The Story
#

One day, suddenly a big hole broke in the sky!

“Rumble! Splash!”

Big water poured down from the hole, flooding many villages. People were very scared and ran to ask Goddess Nuwa for help.

Nuwa saw how afraid everyone was and felt very sad. She said: “Don’t worry, I will mend the sky!”

But what could she use to mend the sky? Nuwa thought and decided to use colorful stones.

She climbed over high mountains and crossed rivers, collecting red, yellow, blue, white, and black stones.

Nuwa put the five-colored stones into a big fire. She heated and heated them until the stones slowly melted into colorful paste.

She picked up the colorful paste, flew up to the sky, and patched the big hole bit by bit.

“It’s fixed! It’s fixed!” People cheered.

But Nuwa worried the sky might fall down again. She found a big turtle and used its four legs to hold up the four corners of the sky.

From then on, the sky never fell down again. People went back to living happy lives.

Little friends, the rainbow in the sky after rain is the colorful stones left behind when Nuwa mended the sky!
