The Story#
A long, long time ago, in Greek mythology, there was a hero named Perseus.
One day, a king gave Perseus a difficult challenge: “Go defeat Medusa!”
Medusa was a terrible monster. Her hair was made of snakes, and anyone who looked into her eyes would turn to stone!
Perseus was scared, but he agreed.
The goddess Athena came to help him. She gave him a shield as shiny as a mirror.
“Don’t look directly at Medusa’s eyes. Look at her reflection in the shield!” Athena said.
Perseus went to the cave where Medusa lived.
He held up the shield, looking at Medusa’s reflection, and slowly approached her.
Medusa was sleeping, her snake hair hissing “Sss… sss…”
Perseus raised his sword and struck—
Medusa was defeated!
Perseus put Medusa’s head in a bag and returned home victoriously.
Later, Perseus used Medusa’s head to help many people in need.
Little friends, Perseus used wisdom and courage to complete his task!
