The Story
#

A long, long time ago, in Greek mythology, there was a hero named Theseus.

On the island of Crete, there was a terrible maze. Inside lived a monster called the Minotaur.

The Minotaur had a bull’s head and a human body. It was very fierce.

Every year, Athens had to send seven boys and seven girls to be eaten by the Minotaur.

Theseus decided to defeat the Minotaur and save everyone.

He went to Crete, where the princess Ariadne fell in love with him.

“The maze is very complex. Once you go in, you can’t get out,” the princess said. “I’ll give you a ball of thread. Unwind it as you walk, and you’ll find your way back.”

Theseus took the thread and entered the maze.

He unwound the thread as he walked, leaving a long trail on the ground.

Finally, Theseus found the Minotaur!

After a fierce battle, Theseus defeated the Minotaur.

Then, following the thread, he led everyone out of the maze.

Theseus became a hero of Athens!

Little friends, Theseus used the princess’s thread to successfully find his way out of the maze. This is the story of “Ariadne’s thread”!
