#

A long, long time ago, in Greek mythology, there was a girl named Psyche.

She was so beautiful that people said she was more beautiful than the goddess Aphrodite.

Aphrodite was jealous. She asked her son Cupid to punish Psyche.

Cupid was the god of love. He had wings and a golden arrow. Anyone struck by his golden arrow would fall in love.

But when Cupid saw Psyche, he fell in love with her himself!

Cupid brought Psyche to a beautiful palace. But he only came at night and wouldn’t let her see what he looked like.

Psyche really wanted to know what her husband looked like.

One night, she secretly lit a lamp and saw Cupid.

“So you’re a god!” Psyche cried out.

Cupid woke up. He was angry that Psyche didn’t trust him and flew away.

Psyche regretted it. She searched everywhere for Cupid, going through many hardships.

Finally, Zeus was moved by her sincerity and made her a goddess.

Psyche and Cupid were finally together, living happily on Mount Olympus.
