The Story
#

A long, long time ago, in Norse mythology, there was a prophecy about the end of the gods.

It was called Ragnarok—the end of the gods.

The prophecy said: great battles would come, the sky would darken, and the world would end.

But Ragnarok was not really the end. After the darkness, a new world would be born.

The gods knew about Ragnarok and prepared for it.

Odin, the father of the gods, rode his horse Sleipnir.

Thor, the thunder god, held his hammer Mjölnir.

All the gods gathered to fight the bad forces.

“Whoosh! Boom! Crash!”

The sky turned red. Mountains crumbled. The ocean rose.

The great wolf Fenrir broke free from his chains and swallowed the sun.

The sea serpent Jörmungandr rose from the ocean and fought Thor.

Thor fought the sea serpent and killed it, but he was poisoned by its venom.

Thor fell to the ground, and the sea serpent also died.

After the great battle, a new world was born.

A new sun and moon appeared. A new earth grew.

The gods who survived would live in the new world.

Little friends, Ragnarok teaches us: even in darkness, hope remains. After every end, a new beginning comes.
