The Story#
A long, long time ago, in Celtic mythology, there was a magical creature called a leprechaun.
He was small, about the size of a child.
He wore a green coat and a green hat.
Leprechauns were shoemakers. They made beautiful shoes.
They lived in the forest.
They had a special treasure: a pot of gold!
The pot of gold was very valuable.
One day, a boy named Tim found a leprechaun.
“Hey! You’re small!” Tim said.
The leprechaun was scared.
“Please don’t catch me!” the leprechaun said.
Tim said: “I’ll let you go if you show me your pot of gold.”
The leprechaun said: “Follow me!”
The leprechaun led Tim to a rainbow.
“Whoosh!”
A rainbow appeared.
The leprechaun pointed to the end of the rainbow.
“There’s my pot of gold!” the leprechaun said.
But Tim couldn’t find the pot of gold.
The rainbow disappeared.
Tim was sad.
He learned a lesson: leprechauns are tricky!
Little friends, leprechauns have pots of gold at the end of rainbows.
This story teaches us to be careful with promises.
