The Story

A long, long time ago, in Russian mythology, there was a mysterious witch named Baba Yaga.

She lived in a hut in the middle of a dark forest.

The hut spun around on chicken legs!

“Whoosh! Whoosh!”

The hut turned to face different directions.

Baba Yaga had a big iron nose and a long nose.

She flew in a mortar like a broom!

“Whoosh! Whoosh!”

She went wherever she wanted to go.

One day, three brothers went into the forest.

They found Baba Yaga’s hut.

“Who is there?” Baba Yaga asked.

The youngest brother said: “We’re lost. Can you help us?”

Baba Yaga said: “I can help, but you must do something for me.”

She gave them a difficult task.

The brothers worked hard and completed the task.

Baba Yaga was happy. She gave them a magic gift.

The youngest brother used the gift to find his way home.

Baba Yaga taught people important lessons:

Be brave, work hard, and be kind.

Some people were scared of Baba Yaga.

But she was not always scary. She could be helpful and wise.

Little friends, Baba Yaga was mysterious and powerful. She taught us to be brave and work hard.
