The Story#
A long, long time ago, a kind farmer found a snake in the snow.
The snake was frozen and cold.
“Poor little snake,” the farmer said. “You must be cold.”
The farmer took the snake home.
“Let me warm you up,” the farmer said.
He put the snake near the fire.
The snake began to warm up.
“Ah, I feel better,” the snake said.
But the snake was still a snake. Snakes are dangerous.
The snake opened its mouth and bit the farmer!
“Ouch!” the farmer cried.
The farmer tried to push the snake away.
The snake said: “I’m a snake. I bite people.”
The farmer was sad and angry.
“Why did you bite me?” the farmer asked.
“I can’t help it,” the snake said. “That’s what snakes do.”
The farmer learned a lesson: some things don’t change.
You can be kind to everyone, but some people are bad.
Little friends, the snake bit the farmer even after being helped. This story teaches us to be careful with dangerous things.
